Psoriasis is a disease that develops if there is a genetic predisposition, which often remains for the rest of life in variously strong manifestations. Chronic processes as well as acute phases are possible.

Often there is also accompanying arthritis. There are many treatment possibilities.

If manifestation is not very strong, an anti-desquamative treatment, accompanied with active agents in the form of ointments, cremes or lotions, corticosteroids, cignolin and vitamin D-3 analogs are suitable.

Often a light treatment with the help of UVB, PUVA and light bath therapy is carried out. For an internal treatment, fumaric acid esters, retinoids, cycloscopine A and methotrexate are available.

In the case of the most severe forms, modern injection preparations, so called biologicals are applied. A combination of therapies is also possible to some extent.
