I perceive brown spots as disturbing: can I remove them with laser?
In the case of brown -pigmented changes, it should be first clarified with the dermatologist whether the skin change in question is benigh or possible malignant change or its pre-stages.
What kinds of spots are suitable for a laser treatment? All coloured changes of the skin that are proved benigh by a dermatologist, and that react to a certain wavelength, such as for example reddish spots on the neck, face and torso, and brown spots, that are also called sun or age spots. Pigmented birthmarks (Naevi), should not undergo laser treatment for different reasons. If you have any doubts, please consult your dermatologist.
Can only individual wrinkles be removed? Sure! Sometimes a combination of several measures is possible, but correcting individual disturbing wrinkles or lines is also possible for sure.
How long do I need to avoid the sun after the intervention? After an intervention or a peeling, you should avoid the sun for 3-4 months, and apply sun protection crèmes with a high UV filter against UVA and UVB radiation. Also after oblation, the treated areas should be protected from the sun for appr. 2 months.
Is oblation of spider veins more painfull then laser treatment? No! The sensation of pain varies from person to person. During oblation, a fine puncture and a light burning can be sensed. During laser treatment, pricking similar to a pinprick and a burning afterwards is normal.
Is there a method, which helps getting rid of annoying hair on legs? Nd-Yag laser is suitable for a permanent hair removal on large areas. It is important to consider that, similar to each laser treatment method, many sessions are required for permanent hair removal on large areas.
Is there a method for removing fair (blond) hair? Fair hair is not so visible. Still if it bothers, modern laser-methods unfortunately are not suitable for removing this typs of hair, since they need colour on the hair root in order to take effect. This cannot be changed even by dying the hair.
Therefore, the methods used are removal with wax, shaving (for example on the legs) or using depilation cremes. In the meantime, there is creme on the market, which blocks hair growth, also in the case of light-coloured hair.
Which method is best suitable for removal of hair in the face? In the case of individual hair, electroepilation done by a cosmetologist is still a suitable method. In the case of hair growth on flat areas (for example facial hair in women), wax and hair removal creme can be used in the case of fair hair.
In the case of dark, flat hairiness, light-supported procedures such as treatment with Epi-light or a long-pulsed Nd-Yag laser are suitable. They also produce a lasting effect.
